It’s OK to Feel _______



This is your Sunday night reminder that it is perfectly ok to feel however you feel.

If something has gone well, it is ok to feel happy and to celebrate. (Or, to not feel happy, even if you feel as though you ‘should’ be.) If something hurts you, it is ok to feel sad. If someone mistreats you, it is ok to feel angry, or disappointed, or anything else.

You don’t need to justify your feelings, or explain them away, or try to analyze them so that you can dissect them for yourself or for anyone else. You don’t need to feel guilty or ashamed about your feelings. You can – but certainly don’t have to – ignore your feelings and hope they go away. It is ok to give your feelings a voice if you want to.

You don’t deserve to be told how to feel, or how not to feel. You don’t need anyone’s allowance, and you don’t have to engage with people who try to exert control over the way you feel.

And you don’t have to apologize for your feelings.

You. Do. Not. Have. To. Apologize. For. Your. Feelings.
